How many tanks do you have

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
One point in my life I had over 25 tanks in a 500sq ft. Room. At my moms in Wisconsin. Now I kinda grew up and settled in Ohio and currently have:
92g Oceanic corner awaiting new discus.
125g Uaru tank with silver arowana, rtcxtsn.
14g hex Asian biotope
29g guppy
25g guppy
35g oceanic hex new unused, paid $30. Still can't believe it! Undetermined what I'm going to put in it. Maybe rainbow fish.

Last but not least, I have my 1185g pool in the basement that houses a RTC, TSNxMarble, Mono PB, 2 Oscars, 5 enormous pacu. One tipping the scale around 40lbs @ 33"

Others:
2 Pomeranians
2 Himalayans
1 gold capped conure

Nice! I want a golden conure really badly, they're very expensive though. Then again, I want a harlequin and hyacinth macaw too :D

For realz, never again. Parrots belong wherever they come from.
oh yea, I love these birds so much, let's clip their wings so they can't fly and cramp them into a cage too small for them. Then when they squwaawk to try and tell us how unhappy they are, throw a towel over their cage so they shut up and we can continue pretending we aren't doing anything wrong *trollface*

How did you know that's what I do? Lol.

Birdkeeping 101. Now consider the treatment they get once they get homes is much MUCH better than the treatment they get from dealers/vendors/wholesalers/shippers/etc. After seeing how birds are treated from the time of capture to sale I would never keep a bird or support the industry.

I agree on this. I think most people tend to over exaggerate the exotic animal trade, the bird trade can't really be over exaggerated. It's honestly awful. I had a blue and gold macaw, he was captive bred and had a room to himself.

I would never keep a bird in a cage smaller than it can move around in, play in, and stretch its wings out at the very least, along with a few hours outside of the cage. That would be a bare minimum. When I have enough money and time to keep a macaw again, I'll probably do something in the neighborhood of 8 feet long and 5 feet wide and have it go up to the ceiling. I'm not sure which macaw to go with - a harlequin (blue and gold crossed with greenwing) or a hyacinth. Maybe both :)
