how may times a day do you feed your fish

everyother day for me.. i feed my aro, cichla, and polys... then i leave the tank because my african pike wont eat unless im away from the tank.

I usually watch cause its amusing but i feed about 5 or 6 times a day. It makes them grow faster and I enjoy watching them gobble up thier food.

I usually feed my fish every other day, i think with large fish (appart from rays) every day is a little excesive.

I feed my Pacu once a day whatever fresh veggies i have on hand and I usually toss in a few unsalted peanuts as a treat. Every 2 or 3 days he gets some floating Chichlid Staple instead of veggies and i'm thinking about getting some grapes and see how he likes them as a treat. I have to take a couple steps back when i feed him before he will get the floating pellets or chew his nuts otherwise he just stores them like a chipmunk. I'm assuming he sees me as just another fish (but bigger) because in other tanks i've seen them chase off all the other fish before chewing up their food so it doesn't get stolen from them. If I get some grapes (and courage) i'm going to try and hand feed him again but i'm afraid i'll lose a finger this time. wned:

Fish dont eat scheduled meals in the wild and they dont usually control what they eat, so...say what you will about what is "appropriate"(I'm sure to hear someone bag on me) but I have had not only fantastic growth and breeding results, but I have experienced fantastic longevity in all my fish as well. I have Africans, S.Americans, C.Americans, Plecos, Goldfish just to name a few.

You missed the option i feed every other day, to every 3 days... my puffers definitely don't need to be eating every day...

During the week, I travel for business. So, I feed 3 to 4 days a week. It's never daily, and even then, I don't feed several times a day. It's just once a day. I also, target feed with a bbq skewer, several fish that are not as aggressive as others.

I feed one or two times per day. I'm suprised people actually just drop food in and walk away. The best part of having the fish is watching them eat! In my opinion.

i feed twice per day but a 1-3 days out of the month im not home to feed them...i aswell think this is one of the best parts of fish keeping, seeing fish compete for the most food , ripping filllet to shreds or their own natural way of snagging foods
