How much do Gila Monsters go for?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well I know that to be true about deer in Georgia, Rangers set up fake bucks on the side of the road that have camcorders in the eyes looking for rednecks spotlighting and shooting deer from vehicles.

lmfao, my cousin who is a hunter was telling me, that in a certain park the elks are protected and planted chips in each one of them. One day a chip was detected in the civil area. They located the elk dead in someone's house, where it was shot......you may never know what rangers are willing to do....

ooops sorry lol i completely forgot id started this thread.
i really dont think anyone should lower the prices. i was just saying to my mum that over here can get cobras for as low as 80 and i just dont think thats right. i know u have to have a dwal over here but there arnt that many places that check if u have a licence....and thats just bloody stupid.

theres a girl round my local grocery store that says she breeds her corns....when i asked how big she said they wernt even 2ft!!!!
then she went on to say she wanted to breed king cobras, so i mentioned the licencing and she had no idea....now for someone like that lowering prices is dangerous, ESPECIALLY as she has no idea on snakes and that she can get one without being asked for a licence.

rant over lol

i wish they were lower. there are people like me, that doesnt have a ton of extra cash but would luv for more HOTs. thank fully there are some species of hot that arnt too expensive.

too many people put not having a ton of money with poor husbandry, and that isnt necessarily true.

I agree, I am completely broke at the moment but I put the care of my animal above paying the rent (But the rent does get paid don't worry).

oh thats rediculous....im on benefits and all my animals are healthy, fed correctly and looked after fine.

i just mean that over here people r just ignorant too it and dont get asked for their dwal when buying....which is dangerous. there is a reason they r under dwa act and people that fail to recognise this are putting themselves and other people at risk.

If your not willing to fund such a rare creature you shouldnt own one period. I paid 1500 for my French bulldog. Worth every penny. Gilas or kamotos or anything of that nature should be a pretty penny, because of the cost of maintanance and if too many unresponsable people started owning them they would get blacklisted quicker than ish. I mean this is an animal that carries alot of risks. IMO is isnt an animal that should even be available as a pet. but some certainly have good homes. Id say stick with a monitor haha. Licenses, risks, and liability arnt worth it to me.

this!^

this is the shear assinign stupidity that has no basis in reality i was talking about. In his opinion(its right there in black and white) if u dont have the cash to pay for a 1500 dollar animal u cant care for it. Nice dude.:screwy:

id continue on but i know id get an infraction :irked:

gonna leave it at this. U can care for a complex dangerous animal, even if u cant pay 1500 bucks for the animal. money has nothing to do with husbandry.

PS i am not calling u stupid. just saying that statement is

I think the license should be difficult to get but not so much the animals once you have the proper permits etc... and as far as dangerous animals go, there are plenty that are not regulated or difficult to get (pit bulls for example are often for sale on craigslist and I consider them more dangerous than a big Gila or beaded).

Rare venomomous lizards should just be given away, right? And Yes, Somebody with limited funds SHOULD NOT own precious animals. Call me stupid. Lack of money usually means lack of responsibility, This is prevalent in the working industry. Can you provide this animals natural diet? hell no. Im sure there are some good owners out there who arnt all that wealthy, but im talking about majority here. Im simply not just talking about gila maintainance, thats not all that expensive or hard, there are just alot of factors in play here. What? are you gonna sell the family car to take it to the vet? Same basis as a Van Gogh painting in a trailer. Something stupid will happen sooner or later. If you want a rare pet, you have to pay the price.
Your arguement relying on husbandry, which again isnt even what i was really talking about.
What you are saying is, just because a bobcat will eat catfood, it shouldnt cost $5,000. Talk about asinine.
