I'm a little bothered by the fact that they get to control the amount that the waitress gets for a tip.Totally,well almost,takes the paying customer out of the equation.
If the service is there, I do not hold the food quality against the servers tip.if the server is engaging but knows when to go the hell away. Does a good job.I will tip 30%.

Also I know if it's a really nice restaurant. Chances are there's a chef in the back that's a perfectionist pr!@£ like me in the kitchen...and I know I'm not always the easiest to deal with at work.
