I respectfully disagree with this one :)

take a look at the Marineland 300g next time at the LFS. its 6 feet long, 3 feet wide, 27" tall. probably weighs 500 pounds.

I have a hard time believing even two strong people could safely move that.

its too heavy and way too akward for just two do to it properly IMO.
blah blah blah, it does not weigh 500 lbs. A 210 at 7x2x2 weighs 350lbs. theres no way it weighs 200 more pounds. And whoever said a 150 weighs more than 350, your crazy. GLASS COMPANIES use suction cups to move big panes of glass. If they were a risk, why would they use them? Go to harbor freight and suction cup them to the floor. you wont be able to pull it off. cowboy up! If you guys need help from a 140 lb girl, let me know :headbang2

It may be wrong (although it seems about right to me) but this website states a glass 150 gallon as being 338 pounds empty http://alysta.com/books/fishtank.htm

This one states it as 358, just so you know where these "Crazy" thoughts came from http://www.thekrib.com/TankHardware/size-chart.html

a current Marineland 265g weighs 400 pounds empty:

http://www.marineland.com/sites/Marineland/Documents/Standard Aquarium Specs.pdf

so my estimate of 500 pounds for the 300g is probably quite close.

not necessarily true at all. why? because tanks that are 24" tall are often made with thinner glass than tanks that are 30" tall.

if this 300g tank is taller than 24" it will have very thick glass (with possible glass eurobracing which adds a lot of weight) and weigh significantly more than a 7x2x2 tank.

it just depends on the dimensions.

It also says a 180 weights 338. If you type into google "how much does a 210g glass tank weight' I've seen it come up as 343 lbs. That to me seems more realistic. With one suction cup on one end, my bf picked it up with one arm. There is no way he could do that if the tank weighed 500 lbs. I may be wrong..but I can post a video with me picking up one end, just to show you only need 3, if not 2 to pick up a 300g tank...mind you..with the 4 dollar suction cup.

I agree totally. but I must be missing something: did someone claim a 210g weighs 500 pounds? that would be one thick glass tank lol.

I know I claimed a 300g could weigh 500 pounds, which it might given Marineland's 265g specs, but no 210 is going to weight that much unless it is custom built with 3/4" glass...

fhawk362 said his 150g was said to weight 350. so theoretically a 210 would be said to weight about 500lbs. which unless the glass is outrageously thick, it's not weighing that much. I would highly recommend suctions cups though. If you do it right, you wont be having any problems.. If you plan to move it pretty far, dollies would be a great investment. Picked up two 12in X 18in dollies from harbor freight for 8 bucks each.

How much easier could it get?
