your in college and can't get a job? that's a bunch of bullcrap I know alot of ppl who went to college and had a job at the same time so that they could actually pay for their tuition! I thought you were a little kid?
exactly what Hybrid said lazy! go out and get a part time job atleast.
its going to cost you a lot less to run it in the summer than it does in the winter...
through the winter (i keep the house cold.. or did till i figured out how much it cost to heat the tanks vs heating the house) it cost me about $40 a month to run all of my tanks/lights/heaters/filtration (10, 25, 30, 40, 55, 75 and an outdoor 60)...
since my last electric bill ive added a 100 and another 60
my guess is it cost you less then $10 a month to run that tank...
When I first moved into my apartment my electric was about 40-50$ a month. I added a 55 in the summer, and it may have jumped 10$. In the winter I was running a 2 125, 2 55s, and a 20 and my electric was around 130$ a month max was 150$ once.
Most of the tanks had no light except when I was viewing. One of the 125 was on a 6 hour cycle, and one 55 was on a 10 hour cycle.
It's not as easy as everyone says to find the time for a job when you're a full time student, especially for certain majors. Most of the guys I graduated with did NOT have part time jobs and this was NOT because we're lazy.
I also don't understand how people can judge/attack this guy just because he asked a question on a forum that was meant to share information. Just my rant.

dude give me a break he's in college and he can't even make $50 a month? alot of ppl aren't as lucky as you and the guys you graduated with who had their parents pay for their tuition.
If anyone continues arguing because of disagreements, drop it. It is clearly becoming a personal matter. Why not just offer advice and let the OP choose what he wants?
