OK I'm not going to read all the posts because I'm sure no one has said this.

Are you 100% sure he was following you or just heading in the same way, this has happened to me in school. Just on my merry way when some girl turned around and asked me why I was following her. Some of my friends also say they think guys are following them all the time, so maybe it is just in your head. Asking you for your number was probably his last resort and when that failed he was just going to go home to where ever he lives and it was probably in the same basic direction as your house.

actually i'm pretty sure he wasn't following me because i didn't want him to know where i live so i walked around a few blocks for a whole 40 minutes, taking different roads that basically all lead the same street my house is on. and i also changed trains twice and he did the same..so all of that can't just be coincidence can it? also when i went into the police station he actually walked about a bit outside and sot of wandered around until that police officer went out and talked to him.

if knife or pepper spray aren't options look into taser gun training and permits, most countries will have some sort of permit based program for them.

calling the police will make the more finickey go running, the more persisitant will not and then you're reliant upon response time. this is where you either have to injure him and then run or use a weapon that will disable him.

it's a pity that so many countries have laws resticting ways of protecting yourself. seriously what criminal does that harm? none it only harms those who need protection.

and as always large dogs and boyfriends/husbands are the best deterants.

Yeah Like (natural) said if he doesnt stop then yell at him and tell him to go away and that he is bothering you.. Just make him look like the ass that he is and he will probably walk off, or tell him that ur not into men haha.. Or just find another guy that is around and tell them that a guy won't leave you alone and ask him if he can talk to him or if you can just sit near him on the train so if anything does happen there is someone to help out..Just stay around where there is alot of people and hopefully they won't try anything.. You can also hop on the train that takes you to Italy and I'll be more then happy to lay him on his ass..

haha no but seriously though..... my advice would be to carry pepper spray or some other alternative.. taser? regardless if its illegal most of you women carry handbags big enough to smuggle migits anyway lol im pretty sure you can conceal a small can of spray... good luck.. you did the right thing ...
