How to convince parents to get another aquarium

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think I'll get another filter and maybe a snail or two. Are there any cleaner fish or snails or shrimp that would help?

What needs cleaning exactly?

That's what my classmates were willing to pay for, also part of why I was always in trouble. The hardest part really was the lighters. A 13 year old in NY can walk into a store and buy a machete, but a lighter you need ID to buy. I had to get them illegally lol.
What a rebel lol

I'll just get a marine land filter and maybe a test kit now that i think of it.

risked detention etc to smuggle food , knives, lighters etc from nearby stores into school for cash to pay for my fish and coin collecting expenses

hello; You risk more than detention bringing knives into a school.

You fit in well with a few other young forum members who want their way in some else's house. I get the "I want it now" attitude.
When you reach the age of majority, usually 18, you can move out on your own and have any setup you can afford. Have patience. That is what I and many others have had to do = grow up and move out.
If you are already over 18 and still "working" the parental units for you very personal desires this is a sad situation. The term "karma" for some reason comes to mind. I do not think you have made the Wal-mart betta list yet though.

What's the Walmart betta list? Is it some kind of list of people who you want to be reincarnated as Walmart betta fish?

Listen, hang tight with what you have.

Yeah it's not necessarily ideal but when you move out its all your own rules.

cool it. I have repented. At the time it seemed like the right way to go asking getting cash. I wasn't sure too smart. At 13, I felt old enough not to "work the parental units" and thought I was running a legitimate business, albeit one that the law didn't allow :) .if I in any way sound like I am condoning such behaviour let it be known that i am not. I paid heavily for this, as because of my reputation I was sent to a dorm high school for tough kids, where I quickly found I either had to go a whole lot hardcore or turn a new leaf, and i chose the latter option. I am no longer in a chapter of my life where the subject of this thread is directly relevant to me. I still live under my parents roof, but I understand that since I am over18 I should be on my own. I do not ask for my parents to pay for my fish, I have not done so in probably ten years. :)
