Sorry for the confusion, yeah, it does seem like a good idea to just crimp the end of the hose to reduce the diameter, and slow the water flow. It will take some playing around, but once I get the diameter just right, it will make cleaning the substrate a breeze I'd imagine. I kinda don't want to bother with a commercial one because I think I can fine-tune a homemade version better.
