How to remove 100lbs of sand from a tank?

alright so i'm giving up the fine sand in my tank any idea how to remove it?

maybe siphon it out or use a big but very fine net?

Siphon as part of a water change. Should be easy enough, especially if you have a decent size tub you can siphon into.

i'd prolly five gallon bucket it lol, would i do a straight tube to siphon it? also skynoch, where'd you get your sand? i like it i need something larger grain that doesnt stick to the rays and is a natural light color... or maybe should i go dark with the scobinas and a red aro?

It would take quite a few waterchanges to get the sand out by only siphoning. If you want it out sooner, get a bucket and scoop most of it out first. The rest can be siphoned out in one or two water changes.

Yeah, just straight hose. It's how I remove gravel / crushed coral from my tanks when I need to.

Siphon as much sand as possible, along with whatever water comes along, into bucket #1.
Carefully pour water from busket #1 into busket #2 down to the level of sand.
Dump remaining sand from busket #1 into garbage can.
Pour water from busket #2 back into tank.
Repeat.
