145 per tank would be good if you run a closed system.
lights for corals will be much more than that for 40 breeders though.

so that would cut tank totals in half. Ya i think i might do salt water fish in 180gallons?and possibly some in like 40g what tank size would be best for corals/rock or salt water?

depends on the fish size and coral size for the livestock.
you can build shelves for coral frags out of light diffuser from home depot.
for live rock, Rubbermaid stock tanks the the cheapest and they wont break if rock gets dropped

the coral shelves was a completely different idea all together. sorry

I know that it is okay to ask, but this kid is in way over his head. I have posted in this thread already, and now I am embarrassed and annoyed. This is just a little kid, you are not asking any direct questions, you do not have the first clue about what you are even asking, honestly... what do you want us to do? Tell you everything there is to know? It is a business, you need to treat it as such, you need to do YOUR OWN research because it is your $$$$$$ on the line. Sit down and come up with some sort of plan or at least figure how much money you have and can get to do this venture, if it is less than $150,000 don't waste your time. At the very least go work for a store for a year and get a feel for how much work it is.

Like I said before, I have 3 stores, you need to get yourself some business experience and especially some pet store business experience first before you tease yourself about doing this venture. But like I said early, how much money do you have access to?

...Lol. I made this thread to get some ideas, and answer some of my questionsi have on opening a fish store. I am not forcing anyone to do anything. I got a plan and average estimates about 150-200k.
And to answer you questions i have access to about 120grand
