How to start a fish store?

all i have to say is... SALTWATER SALTWATER SALTWATER! its the money maker! you wont stay afloat without a good selection of saltwater. thats how my LFS stay afloat. they have good corals and saltwater fish... thats my advice. (its probably been stated before)

I have to say this, Saltwater is only a moneymaker if you devote enough space and money in the beginning to do a LARGE display. If you dont have alot of livestock, people sill skip right by you and go to the guy with the largest selection.

In the case of the LFS I worked at while in High School, our SW selection was very small compared to FW and we wound up ripping it down because we were loosing money. We had just a handful of loyal customers, the rest all went to the other stores with more selection.

that is a really nice set up. i like the wood trim...gives a more natural look than the plastic, metal or painted shelves i'm used to seeing. well done

Thats really good set ups, that your store right? I have enver seena ny store care s much about that i liek the wood usuallt its metal and no one cares baout the way the tanks looks.
