Cute pair!

Mine disappear after free swimming stage. Someone is eating them. I mean that was the plan, but Toni's snacks not who ever is getting them.View attachment 1329918
I wish my pair were less striped and more like yours, but overall very beautiful pair, colors don’t show up in pictures very well.

Mine are doing fantastic, they are in a tank with two JDs, 2 other HRPs, and two mollies.

In a week or so I’m going to pull some over to the 33g maybe move the parents as well, though the 33g has a Pleco....

Mine has never shone the bars like yours do. Always been more of dots than bars. 20180318_120659.jpg
When I first got them. See dots than bars. All were this way at the store.

To bad I am broke ATM, Petco is doing 1per gal on select Aqueon open top glass tanks. I would grab a pair of 20gal for fry.

I have about 15-20 fry in with the parents in the 90g fish tank atm.

I moved several into the 33g, I can only locate 2-5 fry in this tank at any given time. I feel bad for the ones I moved as they seem so vulnerable.

I feed vinegar eels to the babies, not sure how long I should continue this, then I crush flakes, and also feed powered fry food....hoping this is enough.

Here are the parents with the fry, the fry seem to be feeding on the fuzz growing in the driftwood. I know they are eating as I see little poops still attached to them.

So far I have noticed two things. They eat the algae on thier house. And two, mom and dad bring food above them and crush it up, and spit it out.

Last time I had fry this big was normal cons. They stayed with the parents and all I did was feed them frozen brine shrimp.

Oh wow, mine are not big enough to eat brine shrimp yet...they are tiny!

You don’t have cons now do you??

No not any more. I got a pair to be breeders for clean feeders. First batch was 3days after I bought them. 20171019_181151.jpg
Yup that's Toni. They breed in a tank with a 6inish Oscar. We're keeping her to the left hand 1/3 of the tank till I got the divider we now see. After this batch they got thier own 29gal for a week. Then the kids mother took them to be population control in a Platty tank. Now in a 40b in my son's room.

You can see how big they were, they still ate normal frozen brine shrimp. Store was out of baby brine...so got regular. Wasn't expecting the spawn to be so quick. Was funny thier little mouths locked onto the shrimp. The babies got to a 1/4 or so before a move forced me to let Toni eat them early.
