5 year is for long nose! gator gar need to be 6 to 9 years old! and they don't protect their eggs or babies so most of them will get eaten before they get pass 1ft! gar eggs are toxic for human consumption but not for other fish and animal, so they can still be eaten by other fish and animal!
PS:I see you don't even understand what I mean here!

Go to Falcon Lake, Amistad Reservoir, or Choke Canyon (to name a few) and see for yourself. there's plenty of proof out there, and honestly until then back off because you really don't know what you're talking about. I know what an Alligator Gar looks like and yes i have seen plenty of them over 6 feet long in my short time living here in Texas. There is NO shortage, end of story.

say what you want, I still think killing a big gar is stupid and there should be a length limit of how big a gar that people can kill!

you act like they are being killed for no reason they get ate just like any other fish you keep reading your internet stories and let us that know first hand speak on the topic

You've got to be kidding me.....This is not a "shame." Too many animal rights activists on here. They aren't people, they're fish. The guy put a lot of food on the table. I do the same.

Was it a shame when brought in 12 walleye the other day, filleted them up and ate them for dinner the other week?

Was it a shame when I shot bambie in the heart, field cleaned her, took her home, and had venison for dinner?

I don't think so. I think the majority on here wouldn't have it in them to filet a fish or field dress a dear. I think most are vegetarians. If not, realize that what was done to this gar was far less cruel than the way they slaughter the cow you buy.
