He said he got his gig which I think is the tong thing.

Also I'm pretty sure the Eastern D-back is a threatened species, critically so if I recall.

lol thats what I meant a "tong" . I had no idea what it was called.

with all the people so involved with herps, and the number of venomous species specialists, its ridiculous that they called in a trapper that probably has the idea of kill em all. shame, but its good no one was hurt badly or killed

A gig is a gig - not tongs

and no, their is no protection for EDBs in Floriduh.............

Florida (FWC) is terrible when it comes to protecting wildlife or wild lands.

Very reluctant to put an animal in any type of threatened ,endangered list.

They are still contemplating putting a horse and bike trail in a secluded area that has a breeding group of the very human shy Florida panther.

I find it unreal that they even consider this.

In this case they had to call because it was in a gated community . They can't risk leaving it .

Esp since most of those gated communities are tea cup yorkie terrier area's lol.

Like you and everyone here my problem is that it was killed but I understand having a trapper remove it and relocate it .

I'm just not impressed with florida and the way they handle many things. As you said, they don't care enough about preserving the animals here. thats why the manatees and the panthers came close to extinction. and the one animal they really protect is the alligator! If you are seen even "harassing" (picking up a baby to move it even) you can get a fine. there are millions of gators! it makes no sense

i live less than 20 minutes away from that, I have my venomous permit, and I would have LOVED to keep that snake ALIVE if I got that call

again, this shouldn't surprise us, Floridians have demonstrated time and time again, they're incapable of counting things, we see it in their voting and their wildlife service follows suit. :grinno:

Does that permit allow you to keep venemous or only 'trap"/remove them?.
