Huge water changes

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Predose the tank. Run water at kitchen tap first to get hot water going; attach Python to sink (first turn off water!!) then turn water back on, let the tank fill up. I do it this way every time and have had no problem at all. Good luck!!!!

I have like 4-5 buckets full of water sitting around all the time so I can do all my water changes in one day.

Thanks for the help guys. Should make my life easier. One last question, does de-chlorinator remove the chlorine from the water almost instantly?

It dosnt remove anything but it will make the water safe for the fish right away.

I use RO/DI in all of our tanks so it's not an issue.

does it also prevent the chlorine from destroying the bacteria in your filter too?

Yes. provided the clorine/clorimine level isn't too high in your tap water. It's always a good idea to test it about once a month or so because the levels can and do change in municiple water systems.

I thought you meant get rid of my fish and buy a snake. I was thinking are you crazy.
Feel a bit stupid now, what is a python and how does it work? Is it used to refill the tank because emptying the tank is not a problem.

That is what I meant. A snake instead of fish = no water changes.
