Not sure if you got it in the us but there was a guy ed Stafford who walked the entire length of the amazon. He just done a show called naked an marooned he spent 60 days on a deserted island with nothing but a camera. Is a real good watch.

Just hands a feet? People have always been able to use tools and weapons for defence so not sure how we forgot. I think I could maybe probably not survive

My fish life is sparked up with Polys :)
 
I don't think people would be killed by predators, so I don't think weapons are necessary. Id figure id die from some spider bite or infection or something. Not having healthcare would prob kill 90% of people if they were dumped in the jungle for a year
 
People definitely will be killed by predators. Without technology, apex predators such as grizzlies will quickly reclaim their former range.

Just look at Africa, death from lions and crocs are still common occurrence.

Agreed,one would not be able to outrun some kind of predator or other for very long.Most would injure themselves just trying to do so.
 
I think the vast majority of the population would die off. I do think people could survive though. You have to learn your environment, learn your predators, learn your food sources and learn how to make your resources work for you. There are people who learn to fish with twigs and leaves.... . You can use stones, leaves and branches to make weapons, so even if you didn't have one it does not mean you can't make one. You have to have the will and the mindset to survive and the brain power to figure out how to use what you have around you.

As for the survival shows they have some good tips here and there that are useful even if a lot of things are staged...
 
doug your next thread should be "How Will You Die In The Wild?" or "You Are Going To Die In The Wild, How Do You Wanna Go Out?"

i'd wanna do like a guy who's on his first day in prison. go find the biggest and meanest animal I can find and start a fight. if I win, I become tarzan. if I lose, I go out fighting a 20 ft croc or alpha Lion, like a boss
 
Sorry Doug but that won't work, it ruins the whole Geico commercial. So easy that even a spaceman from an advanced civilization could do it just doesn't have the same ring.

As for the original intent, no we would not survive using just physical strength to match animals. If you were to spend your life hiding and eating fungus maybe, but not head to head with the big boys. Now if you simply mean without modern technology but with knowledge, than yes, as man has been surviving that way for thousands of years.

Without the Knowledge, which is not ingrained anymore, we would not last one week, bar one or two lucky exceptions.

And quite probably would die in some undignified manner, such as diarrhoea, etc, not fighting a tiger.
