humans VS the wild

Fighting a tiger?

Cowering is more likely. I doubt any one here has stood their ground before a charging tiger like Jim Corbett had.

doug your next thread should be "How Will You Die In The Wild?" or "You Are Going To Die In The Wild, How Do You Wanna Go Out?"

i'd wanna do like a guy who's on his first day in prison. go find the biggest and meanest animal I can find and start a fight. if I win, I become tarzan. if I lose, I go out fighting a 20 ft croc or alpha Lion, like a boss
it's called "suicide"
:-o

This.

Without the Knowledge, which is not ingrained anymore, we would not last one week, bar one or two lucky exceptions.

And quite probably would die in some undignified manner, such as diarrhoea, etc, not fighting a tiger.

Gotta purify that water first. Les taught me how to boil water in a plastic bottle... I'm set for good.

as badly as the dog thread got derailed, it's still breathing, this thread shouldn't get locked for derail either. unless chris or kevin like to pick and choose what they like to lock based on their feelings. they've been known to do that, especially kevin, that guy and his feely feelings

thread may get locked for other reasons though

The cool thing about science is that it is true even if you don't believe it.

Just because you don't believe something doesn't mean it can't be discussed. You have the right to not read anything that offends you. Jewish people might be offended by the discussion of bacon on the forum. So what? Don't read it.

I remember a story about a guy who lived in the African savannah without any modern technology. Not sure if it is true or not. He basically lived as a hunter/gatherer and was successful at chasing cheetahs off their kill for meat. I'm trying to track it down.

Not a guy, a group of people called bushmen.

They lot on life is sad though, other people treat them sometimes like they are sub human.

That is true, people do actually live in these places, but frequently they have some modern technology, even if it is at a minimum. I recall a guy who left modern society who placed himself in the savannah with the goal of living like our African ancestors. He could craft tools from what he found, but that's it. I'm having trouble sorting the correct search terms. Possible it was apocryphal. I'll update tomorrow.

House cleaned.

You may proceed :)
