The cool thing about science is that it is true even if you don't believe it.

Just because you don't believe something doesn't mean it can't be discussed. You have the right to not read anything that offends you. Jewish people might be offended by the discussion of bacon on the forum. So what? Don't read it.

Okay Neil deGrasse Tyson. ;)

I know plenty of people who'd do fine long term in the wild, myself included, while I also know many (the vast majority) who wouldn't last a week. The main issues for the vast majority of people is not animals - it's dehydration and exposure. Thankfully I like in an area with mild winters, mild summers, and a plethora of water.

If you're really interested read Deep Survival by Laurence Gonzales. Very interesting book on who lives, who dies, and why. Children do remarkably well lost in the wilderness.

The really cool thing about science is that it is always evolving and admits when something is in error. We don't take thousands of years old statements like the earth is flat or the sun revolves around it as still the truth. At least most don't.

all you rally need is a pot, cup, and knife, and probably a jacket and blanket... food isn't really a priority until after you have water and shelter... it sounds fun to me but to each his own.

As long as I have a knife and a fishing experiment I'm good!
