Hunter nabs largest gator in state history

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think it is okay to hunt if it is for food. If you kill an animal you should eat it. The people who just go around hunting animals just to say the killed it and keep it for a trophy is wrong. I'm not sure if the guy killed it just to say "I killed an alligator" or if it was for food but those are my thoughts are hunting.

okay guys, we all would have would have rather seen the gator alive, that much we agree on but killing it is not going to wipe out the whole population, there are plenty more big males out there willing to take on the ladies I am sure and I am also sure this guy left plenty of offspring over the years. It is not as big a deal as it is being made out.

PS. New sig.
thief! i was gonna do that!!

If space alien hunters ever visit our planet I hope they have enough karmic consciousness to come after the hunters first. Surely they couldn't object if their family member was taken and eaten, that would surely be hypocritical.

Considering the hunters are out there hunting and whatnot one could argue that THEY would be the trophy kill since they woudl fight back, ect.

So if the aliens follow your arguement then you should probably go into hiding when they come........just sayin...

Awesome looking creature. I'm not going to jump on either side of the arguement, I do not hunt, at most I fish, and I am far removed from the habitat and surrounding human populations involved.

Food for thought though: Wouldn't such a big gator actually aid population control? Again, not familiar with gators, but a lot of reptiles will eat offspring of their species, and that thing could easily eat some pretty big juveniles.

Comparing it to deer hunting is a bit misleading though, deer can be considered pests to agriculture and are an entirely different part of the food chain. Apples and oranges.

Anyway, great specimen,
Paul

maybe none of us should keep any wild caught fish then, you're just taking it from its home and putting it into a tank for your enjoyment. how is that any different from hunting for fun
