Hunting w/ Primitive Tactics

I would with a smile. My 2 of my dream animals are lion and elephant. I was gonna go after a biHug bear I knew were he was living but had no help to get him out if I took him.
 
Smiling, aiming and shooting is not an ideal combination.....

I , personnally would never kill one of the big critters in the world. Too precious to kill, imho,just for the trophy.

But again, I also hate hunting dear, not for the same reasons, but because i find no challenge in it, asbolutely.

Wild boar is a complete diferent level. First they are smart and I know ( have in my farm ) some old grey males that constantly outwit me ; and there is nothing like going out for boars with a pack of dogs.

Only way I hunt.

I used to feel this way, until I read a book called Monster of God, its about the "sustainability" of apex predators and the "role" that legalized/incentive-base hunting can play in their long-term protection.
 
id club anything in the head if i was hungry.

I tottally agree with the need of culling, involving the local communities in the hunting thing as a measure against poaching, et, etc...

Just not for me. Am not against those who do.

I could not make myself shoot a lion or an elephant, or any of those animals, at large. Such nobilty swept away by a long distnce shot, so many years over in a millisecond
 
I've never had any interest in hunting. Honestly I don't even like fishing because I feel bad killing the fish wen though its the order of the food chain I'd rather not partake. But my grandfather lives in upstate New York and has hunted his whole life. When he got remarried his wife didn't like the idea of Hunting and asked him to stop. He stopped for the winter and what happened was they were finding dead starved dear. So from him not thinning out the population of dear they over populated in his area causing less food and starving dear so I've always understood it. IMO I'd rather shoot a picture of the animal and keep that forever.

Why isnt it ideal? Because its not close quarters?(seems ur prefered way of hunting, I want to try) or because I would be smiling while hunting? I get a huge grin when I go hunting. I LOVE it. If I didnt, I wouldnt go.
