im going for a jag dempsey now, jack male and female jag, not working to well so i bought a 240 and a male dovii and am going for jagxdovii mix hope you choose something and keep us posted.

Jag dempseys are nice my uncle has one, i think you would find it more rewarding then a dovii jag. What happen that made you give up on the jag dempsey cross?

Besides the male Jd, it's got a red devil, dovii, flower horn, female jd, and a green terror which is currently for sale in the marketplace section. I also have a 55 with a con and jag that are spawning.

Wow sounds good man, i would like some fry from that jag x con breeding. That green terror male or female?

Like dude why does it matter why i like texas convict? I breed ball pythons and leopard geckos for a living so i breed fish for fun and i will make stuff that i want im not doing this to please others because if thats what your doing then i cant imagine that your enjoying your self pleasing others.
I just don't like the idea of breeding at random and then having to cull an entire spawn of fish. Do what you like.

Dude all these hybrids are random incase you didnt know duh, once everyone figured out alot of things can cross breed it was over. Hybrids are random, some people put cichlids tanks together and look in their tanks one day to find out that there salvini crossed with a convict. Most hybrids arent planned but now people know the secret so now people are planning crosses. Any batch of babies can be culled not just hybrids.

You need to chill a little bro, coming across hostile to people isn't a good way to get help.

They what fry you get from a mix is a bit random but with a little background you can plan out something specific you are looking for. Not everything can cross with anything and not every fish WILL cross with anything. Just because you put a male and female together doesn't mean they will breed. Its usually easier to pair similar looking species. So being new to this you don't necessarily want to jump into the deep end because you will only end up frustrated.

Now you mentioned Green Terror, you aren't gonna get anywhere with that fish.

It's a male Gt but Chris is right about using it to hybridize. Im 99% sure it won't breed with any centrals. But he's available should you want it anyway.

I had a male green Texas and a female black belt that showed interest in each other and both would put on the breeding dress but nothing came from it

First off chris im not being anything, there are people on my thread that are being hostile. Secondly your telling things that i already know, all central american cichlids can breed with eachother and all south american can breed with in eachother. I know alot more then you think and have done plenty crosses before i was just getting opinions and trying to meet good people but thats a dead mission. Plus who said anything about crossing a green terror? I asked about it because i like them and green terrors can hybrid little do you know. My buddy has a green terror x blue acara cross and i will show pics of them breeding soon as he sends me the pics.

I haven't seen anyone say anything hostile toward you. They might post something unhelpful but not hostile.

And no South American can not all breed with each other. They can hybridize within their genus but not freely with each other species like Central American can. So yes Green Terror x Blue Acara can successfully hybridize but not Green Terror x any other SA. I only mention Green Terror because you showed interest in the other persons Green Terror so I assumed you were thinking of hybridizing it.
