Hybrids and the hobby

I was mostly joking but yeah bug fed diets almost always produce gross meat. Bluegill farm raised on bread and pellets has got to be one of if not the best tasting fish out there. Wild caught is certainly better than ok but a bit gamier. I've kind of always wanted to eat a flowerhorn. I bet they're amazing.

Kinda figured i really dont think if you tried flowerhorn you would do it again or recommend it fish raised on a diet of ornamental fish food would make you sick after digisting them there was a guy on here that ate his old pacu and got sick he figured it was emotions till I pointed the warning on almost all fish food but honestly never heard of a fish described as gamey (no punctuation :p)

Its all about how knowledgeable the person you ask on the subject is that hates them to alot of people a hybrid is a mix of to completely different cichlids(species) and they dont even realize that their making a hybrid when they are breeding a herichthys carpintis escondido to a herichthys carpintis vontehillo and these people also don't even realize that in the wild there are cichlids out there that rely on the survival of their offspring through hybrid speciation an instance where two species are wiped out by fertile hybrids of the two species for example herichthys carpintis were introduced into parts of mexico where herichthys labridens are native to well carpintis are naturally spawning with labridens and wiping that species out in the area and certainly none will be pure carpintis personally I don't see any reason over hating hybrids or mistakes because I know it does happen in nature and is a part of evolution by jumping thousands of years in genetic mutations for one species from just one spawn between two species and personally I love hybrids of all species infact there's a place on the way to the job site I've been on for the past month that has a zonkey its the cools thing I've ever seen grazing infront of someone's house

This is a least the second time you have stated that crossing two races of fish is the same as a hybrid. This is simply not correct. It`s like saying if I cross a beagle and a poodle I have a hybrid. Not true! I still have a dog. Now if I through a coyote in the mix I have a hybrid. Two carpintis equal a carpintis. It may not be an identifiable geographic variant but it is still a carpintis as they are the same species. A Northen race of Jaguar crossed with a Southern race is still a Jaguar.

Your example of carpintis crossing with labridens is also amiss. In this example humans moved the carpintis to labridens habitat leading to the dilution of the labridens genes.

Gamerpond says all kinds of neat stuff. Like it is almost impossible to stunt a fish (2 weeks later he said his thai silk isn't as big as it could be because he has let it breed), he thinks first gen hybrids that are ugly back crossed to one of their pure parents are the kind of hybrids people want, etc etc and he says it all without any kind of sentence structure or punctuation haha.

Greatest hits from last week- "you want a dither for your flowerhorn, try guppies" (seriously?)
One of our overseas members received an injured flowerhorn and amputated part of his pectoral fins (not necessary but he was trying to be proactive) he kept saying "tails" and not fins (because he doesn't know english very well and that's ok) he provided pictures and that's a language we can all understand. Not old gamerpond though, he started going on about how it's an aged flowerhorn with droopy tail etc etc totally missing the pectoral fin issue lol.

hybrid vigor does not apply to all hybrids, but there are many.
also dogs are not hybrids, except for a few exceptions. they all are canis lupus "familiaris". same species as the grey wolf. just a subset. dogs have some many problems due to inbreeding. same as fish. eventually the genetics catch up to the pups and fry and they are unhealthy animals. if you look at some dogs "show quality dogs" are not healthy animals at all but are considered by dogs show judges to be the epitome of the breed. if you want to do hybrids it fine just let people know if they are getting your fishg

This right here is what I have gotten infractions over and stay away from by bringing attention away from one thread towards another to prove nonsense but only starting a feud just stop I figured ROTGLMFAO would give you a hint to stop

I'm sorry man but most of the things you post are either nonsense or second hand info that doesn't even apply to whatever is being discussed. You keep dropping your 2 cents everywhere, and your money is counterfeit.
