I have one that is 9" but growth is very very slow. I got it a year ago at 8".

unfortunately so

Its been my experience that once they hit 8" there slow growth slows even more.

When i had 3 (5",7",8") the little 5" guy caught up pretty close to the 7"er with in 8 months. I sadly only had the group together for a little over a year but I did notice there competitiveness makes them eat alot more. Which should mean better growth in a group single species tank. When one would snatch a feeder the others would go crazy trying to get one. Its like it would set of a chain reaction.

What about yours? you have a group now right?

What about yours? you have a group now right?

Yes I have a trio and they are in the range of five and six inches.The first one that I had was really withdrawn and would not eat and would barely move untill a few weeks later when the other two were added.They huddle together and follow one another around the tank and even try to snatch minnows from each others mouths but they are still a little skittish.

mine seems to eat more since i put him w some sharks. he follows them around ha ha

i tried to put him w my rhaphs but he started biting them...

i have my tat on earthworms so hopefully all that protien will help him grow faster
