hystrix breathing out of 1 lung??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've been following this thread very closely because I'm planning on getting a pair myself. Maybe keeping them in a warmer tank has helped as in the wild they being new borns, would probably stay in shallower and therefore warmer water. You guys are making me scared to get them though. And to top it all off, I can't seem to find any Prazi locally either.

lol, 29 gallons, cruel much?

How so? The fish is 3" on a good day. Im talking a disk that is maybe the size of the bottom of a regular coffee cup. A 29 is just fine. His total length is maybe six inches .

Thats about the same as having a six inch disk ray in a 5ftx2ft tank. Is that cruel? :screwy:

My bad, didnt know you had a 6" long ray. I've grown accustomed to seeing big rays.

Doing great! I've been gone for 4 days, had to do an emergency move 1hr before heading home for Christmas because after a water change, my large male decided to get SUPER aggressive with my two smaller females, leaving a nasty mark on one and a small hickey on the other, forcing me to put the two females in the tank with the small female hystrix, got home about an hour ago and everyone is doing great!

I'm considering doing another move, the small hystrix to a 55 but I'm thinking if it aint broke, don't fix it. Problem is, my replacement male is coming soon and I will likely put him in the 55 and want to put my female with him. Perhaps I'll wait a few more weeks to move her...

Input?
