My local Petco always has sick fish. I have friend that USED to work there. Most are like this when they arrive. I USED to go there and wait for fish to come in to cherry pick with him. I’ve seen ich, sunken belly, velvet and more. The sad thing is they are only allowed to treat with Microbe-Lift products. It’s the store policy. Most die before cured. It’s sad, but a reality. They are also not allowed to put a fish in another tank if it is mislabeled.
My local Walmart tanks are horrendous! I actually took pics, emailed them to corporate after talking to 25 different people and have never heard back. Wait until you see a few of these pics. Disgusting!
