Thats absolutely horable I'm a big knife fish fan and have owned them since about 6 years ago. This is unexceptable. It might be ok in Asian culture but NOT ours.

It's "OK" to view the world soley from the perspective of your own culture, but it take a open-minded, substantial person to to view the world from a GLOBAL perspective. Ethnocentrism is so limiting and captive.

Maybe,it depends on how these fish are collected. There are at least two of these types of markets in my area and they both have tons of frozen freshwater fish in their seafood sections.I've seen giant goramy, all sorts of eels, and the knifefish and I'm almost willing to bet that these fish are not grown and bred for this purpose.I think that these fish are probably being overcollected just like a lot of the food fish in the ocean. These markets are in a lot of cities and I'm not even talking about store smaller stores in Chinatown but what are you gonna do,people have to eat.

What's unACCEPTABLE is your spelling. It's horrible lol :grinno: j/k I'm not usually the spelling police but I'm in a mood today.

Back to the subject, there's a nice restaurant here in town that consistently has Oscar on the menu.

http://www.albiernats.com/

Look under the Entree section. Filet of Oscar $47....and that doesn't include sides.

Personally I'de be more worried as stated about the collection process ect of them as food not so much the fact they are food. I'm use to jokes about my horses being dog food. the difference between a pet 'n food 'n the emotional attachment no matter how large or small we develop for a particular animal. Humans are omnivouse.. as long as your not running around my pasture w/ a giant steak knife trying to kill and eat my particular horses.. if that your thing eat it. Same w/ Fish. If your not trying to fish my fish outta the tank to eat, but eating some WC fish. Bon a petite! O.o... 'cept if it endangered or threatened..

Now we have people around here that raise up a "bessie" and slaughter it every fall after raising it all summer, nameing it ect ect.. to me.. thats creepy...

And I'm curiouse to know what Culture your talking about Civil?
