Can anyone please confirm if this is a cyano or carpinte??? :headbang2

Just got this little guy today. It's about 5-6 inches and chasing my male Convict around...But my Convict is holding his own. :nilly:

Thanks!

I would say Cyanogutattus.

Cyano displays in my experience less spotting in the forhead and the spots are generally smaller than those on Carpinte.

Thanks a lot of helping out, that's what I thought it was....Just wanted to make sure cause I'm new to CA Cichlids.

I don't see what the fuss is about, this forum needs more activity instead of responding to the same old threads over and over. And the best thing of having knowledge is being able to spread it.

That fish has a strange yellow base....Do you have better pix?

I don't, nor do I have a better camera....It's the lighting there is a window behind me while I was taking the picture and it's sunset here. That's probably why it seems like a yellow color.

I'm guessing it's male, because of the hump on his head like a Flowerhorn.

Looks very much like this one here but with light blue spots...

Well, if that's a Texas Cichlid and mines look like it but with blue spots instead....It is it?
