Well, if that's a Texas Cichlid and mines look like it but with blue spots instead....It is it?

I said that because someone doubted it was a Texas Cichlid.

I think our reading comprehensions here are pretty low. Picture was taken with a 2MP camera phone. And I can't exactly make a fish pose for a picture, can I?

I am with balton777 ... it looks off and not sure if it's either, or rather could be both ... as in a cross. Has the smaller spots of a cyano but the blue of the carpinte ... but the coloring could be the lfs lighting.

Could the coloring possibly get darker over time? Could it be my lighting? Because at the pet store the lighting was darker than mines.

Cyano's I've seen and had were white spotted even at about 1.5" ... so no, it wouldn't darken over time unless going into it's breeding black ... your pic deffinately isn't breeding colors though.

If you have actinic lighting, that could explain the small blue spots.

Well one of my bulbs are blueish and the other is white. Could that be why? I'm going to try and get better pictures.
