instead of quoting like 10 posts, I'll just declare it without quoting a single one.
I will not argue with my mom in a rude manner, nor will I do anything negative or bad. As much as I'd like to, It'll just make my mom close up even more to any conversation around this topic and the hobby in general.
No matter how hard I try, my mom doesn't want to know anything about the hobby. She just wants pretty fish. I feed them, I spend money on them, I take care of them. Even though she claims my tanks as hers because I stocked some with fish she likes, she does not do anything with them. It's from her personal choice too, It's not like I don't let her touch my tanks (even though she would still do whatever she wants with them no matter what I say)
I saw church somewhere here, we don't go to church.
I can't call her out on anything she does wrong. Every time I have she just deflects it and turns everything back on me, even if it's her fault and she doesn't have any excuse, it still ends up with me being in the wrong.
I've had my fair share of burning bridges with my mom, it happens on the weekly. She's never allowed me to mend our relationship though. Every time I ask her,"can we have a conversation about [Something I did wrong/something she did wrong]?" it doesn't matter if she's happy, sad, or mad, she won't talk to me. She only scolds me for what I did wrong and that's it, no explanation of my actions. She doesn't care if it was an accident, or a misunderstanding, I still did something wrong in her eyes.
