I understand why you don't wanna go back, but pet owners must be responsible. You took it from where it was, now you should put it back where you find it. You shouldn't have taken it if you weren't sure you were able to care for it.

This is the best response. Man up and take the turtle back.

WOW... If this was a fish people would be screaming about once you take it out of the wild either find it a good home our euthanise it. releasing ANY wild animal exposed to tropicals as it's obviouse by the picture is a Big no no.

Either take care of the animal properly or contact a local wildlife rehab/sanctuary.

releasing it back into the wild is the last thing you should do.

Because you couldn't say no, and explaine why you don't take wild animals out of the wild because you want to. You exposed your pets to disease, and the native animal to tropical diseases it could very easily carry back into the wild.

nice input

Yeah, like you really contributed. You just said "eat it" 4 times.:screwy:

As someone else said, its a common musk turtle aka stinkpot turtle. They don't get too big, and aren't terribly hard to take care of. If you took it, you should keep it now and take care of it properly. You can't just dump it in any body of water that you have seen turtles.

Do your research and give it a good home. You basically committed to that when you put it in your tank.
