Aww, glad you're keeping it. If you go to the store get one of those calcium blocks that are shaped like a turtle. They even have them at walmart. They condition the water for the reptile and help with certain ailments.

You need a special reptile UV basking light and be sure to get a multivitamin and a calcium/vitamin D supplement. Turtles are fun just be sure to properly research their diet.

I house Mississippi maps and stink pots with 2 4-6" green terrors for well over a year. They have never had any conflict what so ever. Get a platform for him to bask with a uvb light, some good quality food and enjoy. I feed my turts a lot of free earth worms. I will also throw all my turts in my 180 for a few days for snail control. They love them!!
