I'll try to get a pic if they have some next time I go. def no where near that price.

def look like they grow as some have been there months and have grown. they also do float and sink at various times.

They're not really moss balls, they're algae. Cladophora aegagrophila.
I have some but not in ball form. I could probably make my own balls but I don't like the balls. I like when it grows all over, like a carpet.
I got some that came in an order of plants. It was a tiny tuft of Cladophora and I really didn't know what to do with it at the time so I just stuffed it into a little crack in my driftwood.
It's been 5 years since and my wood looks like this now

Honestly, there's a much cheaper way to get moss balls.
It's really quite simple. You just gotta get some steel wool, and spray paint it green. Not very safe for the fishes or other plants, but who cares, at least you got moss balls.

Cool, an algea carpet. Maybe I can replicate that by opening the balls and holding them down with a hairnet or something. Hmm, no they'd probably disintegrate and slip through the hairnet.
