Maybe, but name one successful theoretical physicist with a low IQ. One anecdote of someone being successful with a disability doesn't make it likely.

As well as you basing success of a chosen field based off IQ.
The more interesting question would be how ****ty our lives would be if everyone who was told they couldnt do something actually listened.
We wouldn’t be near as evolved as we are today if everyone listened. While I think it’s cruel to lead people on I think it’s necessary for the people that have enough passion to attempt it try because it may be 0.000000001% but it’s not 0%. People with passion are the ones that change the world. People who don’t put in 105% will not accomplish what they set out to do in most cases in my opinion.
That video you posted carp was very interesting, we should have a conversation and see how we each think and what topics we think about.
But now your saying passion not iq. Yeah a lazy person lacking passion would probably fail. You realize intelligence how you and carp are referencing it is not end all be all. Infact i know plenty of tech managers (i used to be one) that didnt give a crap about someone IQ or where they went to college. It almost always boiled down to can i train this person ? Will this person break his butt for conpany?

While I don't think that someone should give up pursuing something merely because of one obstacle, I don't think that someone should pursue something if it is statistically impossible. If you have an IQ of 70, you will probably only read on the first grade level, and thus it is likely impossible for you to become a successful theoretical physicist. Keep in mind that there are many things that can make pursuing certain things impossible, such as low IQ, no passion, severe brain damage, etc.
As I stated, I don't think you should give up merely because of one or two obstacles, but if you are in a car accident, and your skull gets crushed and you are severely brain damaged, but still manage to survive, but you can't think, you can't even control when you go to the bathroom, there is no way that you will be able to accomplish anything, such as getting a PhD for example. That is a bit of an extreme example, but it demonstrated my point.
You keep harping on this theoretical physicist. I guess this is an important field to you. Me not soo much. The sanitation worker taking away your trash may have a lower iq than you but guess what society needs him MORE than your theoretical physicist
