I hate New LIFe Spectrum(NLS) FIsh food

Wow, then that is just my luck. My fish love it and usually eat all of it. but like above I see an nls cloud come out of their mouths and gills when they eat it.

All I know right now is that it is turning my wallet into ash, because after paying $50 for a few lbs and then paying for bleach and the filter pads to get the orange brown color out of my filter pads and replace the filterpads that bleach no longer helps.

What filters are you using?

Iam cleaning the micron pads atleast 3 times per 7day week.

Have you thought about converting that to a sand/gravel filter? You would never need micron pads or sponges.

When I system loop my 60+ 20 gallons, they are all going on s/g filter.

My indoor pond runs on one, and my 6000 gallon will be running on 3.

weird problem? Ive fed NLS to all my pellet eating fish. Never seen this orange cloud before. Maybe its the type of fish and how it eats i guess.

if your fish are messy eaters i think all pellet foods will do that to some extent,when i had my oscars my filter pads had to be rinsed more often,after i got rid of them i still feed the same pellets but the pads last alot longer in between rinses. i think it just depends on how much they spit out when eating.

One thing you might try is to reduce he size of the pellet. Give your fish a pellet that is small enough for them to swallow whole. This will reduce the amount of food they chew up and spit back out.

I tend to overfeed, so I know what you mean by the filter socks, but I've never had a problem with my tanks smelling unless I had forgot to do some maintenance. I also run a drip system, so I have fresh water all the time. That might be some of the difference.
