I hate people.

Not my cup o' tea--mostly cause I HATE colored gravel--I just prefer more natural looking tanks. Also, homing behavior, habitat recognition, and environmental adaptations are genetically intrinsic for many animals. No one has studied how farm raised generations respond to natural vs artificial surroundings as far as I know..soo we can't say whether or not that matters. That being said, i dont know how ot if colored gravel affects fishes but theres no need to hate on other peoples preferences until that information is available. Also....I HATE COLORED GRAVELLLLLL
but I LOVE SPONGEBOBBBB
throw a waterball at 'im, Merman!

It's not your tank, so why are you complaining?

I am 21 years old, and I wouldn't turn down having a tank like that. It's cute, and comical.

It would be perfect for a child- especially ones with learning/attention deficiencies. As movement, and color are stimulating for them.

It's good for the imagination- and like you said- to each their own.

Hate it a stong word.. I thing you need to work out some of your own issues before you go hating on someone because of some pieces of colorful plastic in a fish tank. :screwy:
I agree

id put a sponge, squid, and starfish in there. and a squirrel.

Who cares how someone else sets up their tank. I think that half the fun of keeping fish is creating an environment. Then watching how they use it an make it there own.

That tank is ok and if your child did the job or told you what to do and ok'd it good on him he has a hobby. That is the best thing and it shows he has ideas of his own. On the earier discussion here the only fish that will miss a natural habitat is a wild caught. That is like saying living in three hills I must miss living in the jungle how could I when I have never been there or lived there. Besides I think most fish are happy as long as they get food and water changes and maybe a place to hide if they are shy.
