we used to make habitats out of LEGO. Had to sandpaper off the sharp edges and the colours looked dumb, but the fish dug it.

I showed my daughters this Sponge Bob tank and they wont stop talking about it. They said it is so much nicer than mine. Haha

I think this thread should have all posts except for this one deleted and then be locked .

I thought fishkeeping was about personal tastes. So long as the fish are not being kept in a septic tank environment, let the decor and environment be to the keepers liking.

if it makes a kid happy or somebodies girlfriend/wife happy then its awesome. if it helps people have interest in the hobby and they maintain their tanks correctly who is anybody else to judge what they want to decorate it with as long as it is appropriate to the stock.

as long as the fish is taken care of, and water changes made regularly, who cares. Only thing I would change on Op's original tank pic is to put in black gravels so the neons' colors would stand out more.

Really thought the post was about some really bad things some people do, but 'cmon.
