That sucks. I feel for you.

I have always feared something like this happening. I run separate circuits for the tanks that I have. For my big tank I have 2 15 amp circuits for the pumps and heaters, split evenly. Two pumps and two heaters per circuit. Lastly I have a third circuit for the lights.

ya im just so confused now, im no expert when it comes to this, but my tanks are in my garage. there is only 2 outlits down there. 2 plug ins so i had a total of 4 power strips. for some reason they all went off and i had to hit the reset buuton on the outlit closest to the door. so what do i haft to do, run a extention cord from another part of my house and hook it up. what can i do

you overloaded the gfci.. this happens to me when i unplug my pond pump and plug it back in.. i have no idea why but it does.. sorry if this doesn't help

The other outlets are all chained to the GFCI, so it is a single circuit. It would be best to come out of the panel with a new GFCI circuit. An extension cord from another circuit would work, but should be used for long term setup.

:iagree: Running an extension cord from another circuit would work but only as a temp fix. If you have any electrician buddies have them wire another plug in off the pannel that's on a seperate citcuit as the others. That way if it blows you won't lose the whole garage. Not sure how many fish you have, but what all do you have left that didn't die???? And sorry about the female mono, hopefully you won't lose anymore..:(

sucks on the other pbass....
