i wonder what their life span is in the Aquaria..thank you everyone

liz, 10-14 years is their lifespan and it seems 5-7 is a better number for the aquaria. This really depends on fish to fish, as many of our fish have been inbred, hybridized, and so many other factors that cause early death.

oh those little beasts are awesome why would he go so oddly..ive been reading a lot of the same thing there fish is fine then dies hmm i wonder whats going on..but it is sad to lose something like that R.I.P.

Sorry for your loss. Always a drag to lose a pet.
I don't know how long their lifespan is.

thanks everyone.. the LFS store that i went to today told me it was most probable that he passed due to heart failure.. that his age was in the normal life span of course on the lower end of the average scale... the other bigger red i have is even older ...so now i wonder about him.. My jaguar has his days numbered due to old age.. he is very old and starting to lie down alot ... that was what was so weird about big red.. he gave me no clue.. while the Jaguar i can see it coming with obvious signs, although he still eats.. he just tires easily.

Sorry for your loss. :(
