i love oblivious lfs workers

Also the one you have in the picture is a Striated Angler Fish(Antennarius striatus)which has a common name of zebra angler or zebra frogfish or I have seen it called zebra lion before. They sell for about $30. Maybe they had one of these with it which is alot more expensive angler. Wartskin Angler (Antennarius maculatus)

i saw that same species in a lfs by me. labled as a zebra lion also but i thought it was a frog fish too. i think it was like $34. cool find man. cant those things eat other fish twice as big as they are?

I just want to throw this out there for people....

Sometimes, lfs workers know exactly what they are selling you, but either like you or don't care. I've had a guy who had a full african setup sell me frontosas because the tank at th store he worked at was labeled ruby peacock cichlids $9.99. Maybe they were trying to give what they knew (usually we can tell) was an experiences fish keeper a break on someone else's dollar.....

Genius, good work, i wish i had those dumbace's around here... IT was your lucky day, and thats a very nice Giant, or longlure Frogfish>?

Ha! I love pet store employees that don't know what they're talking about.

I love your story. Normally I'd say don't cheat people, but if they are irresponsible enough to stock SW fish without even knowing what they are , I'd say they deserve to be duped.

I have never kept any SW and I know what a lion fish and a frog fish look like.

HAAAAAAAA shouldnt everyone, just makes the buy that much better..

great p/u enjoy it but being the ass i usally am have to say everytime the acountant comes up short because of misslabeled fish, doa or anything else it all adds to the cost of the fish ,so eventually you'll pay for it some way or another..
honesty is the best policy..

i was at one of these chains the other day and they had 2 lionfish.. i saw one was a fuzzy dwarf and the other was OBVIOUSLY a spotfin or antennata lionfish(spelling). i walked over to the clerk and told her, she looked at me like i was insane and goes"we cant just change the name sof the fish, once they come in with a name we need to sel them by that name" and she walked away... i was baffled they dont care... thats why i dont care for them..
