Took me 20 (19 deaths), to get my female. One of the reasons I suggest raising them separately.
Raised this one from egg to @4", and put it in a cichlid community, within days it bloated and died.

Awesome fish, hope you have better luck than i did. I tried everything I could. The water was 84* F, varied diet, bi-weekly water changes. Eventually all of them stopped eating and died a couple days later

19 deaths out of 20 possibles? Sounds like the odds are against me. You guys are scaring me with this talk of death by bloat. I only have one try with this so I gotta get it right the first time. Thanks Dovii Kid, I guess need all the luck I can get.
