You have yourself a pacu and it will get 3' and the plec can get 2' I have seen larger though.
Return these fish. Did the sales person know what size tank you have?
my advice would be to read through the 'stickies' to get a bearing on what is required for whichever set up you choose and then check out the forums on fish that can live in them (or vica versa). But definitely spend a couple days reading first and dont hesitate to ask questions
Wow, "vegetarian piranha". I can totally picture some Petsmart manager giving a new employee about 20 minutes worth of training on their first day and telling them to describe pacu this way.
LOL!!!!!! i guess your right. And is this right? she told me a Black Moor And a Goldfish could go together? i thought Black Moore's were slightly aggressive and should not go with Gold Fish?

Come on face it PetSmart does not ask on a regular basis, and often the people there do not know anyway.
Piranha01 I agree return the fish, Pacus also have been know to break the glass on a tank when they get large. IMO for a 20G tank just go with a bunch of schooling fish like dannos/minnows, neon tetras. Fish that do not get over 1 - 1 1/2" so you can put in 20 or so. For a bottom feeder go with the Chinese Algae eater. They stay small.
I made the same Newbe mistakes, killed a lot of fish, and I am now building a 300 gallon tank because I didn't do my reasearch and now have a tank of fish that get 12" and larger. DOH!
