i need some advice to save my ell

He's pretty bad ass huh? He's a pretty decent size too... pushing 4 feet.
 
well he is doing beter and i think hes eating to but cant tell and the tank is all evand out what showld i get as far as other fish to go with him

Can't tell if he is eating? You should be able to see it happening.

The best way to feed an eel imo is using a feeder stick or tongs. That way there are no left over pieces you need to fish out of the tank and you can assure that your eel is getting enough food to eat.
 
I've never fed a moray anything that wasn't live fish or shrimp. I don't think they often eat dead food. have you tried this?

Also did you acclimate him or just dump im in salt water? I might be mistaken on what you said but did you say you purchased it as a fresh water eel?

My snowflake moray will pack away thawed and cut up shrimps and scallops. They will certainly eat dead food, they just have to learn that it is tasty. Even green morays in the wild will eat hot dogs, divers use them to bait them all the time. I don't recomend it though because your are feeding a fish that is for all intents and purposes blind, and a finger looks the same to them.

And a finger looks a lot like a hot dog...this is why this is a VERY bad idea. :D

I actually know someone who was bitten by an eel who couldnt differentiate.
