it could work , and Yes I did read it, I had misread it

THanks because i never know if people do because i had a guy before comment and tell me to put a arowanna with the worst stocking and i didn't even want an arowanna.

I know it all depends on the fish to because of the personality

Ok so i am thinking about switching things up because i want a really aggressive tank. so he is my thought. In the spring when i get my 240 this is what i might do.

240g (lots of filtration and twice a week water changes) central american aggressive with some of these
mayan cichlid
Tilapia buttikoferi
ex 'Cichlasoma' istlanum 'red'
Vieja argentea
jag (possibly)
the 2 convicts from my 100g ( should be fine the males a brute)
Green terror (not central)
and others (SUGGESTIONS?)

then put then combine the oscars and jack with everyone in the 125 in a 180G

Put the red devil in the 100g.

What do you Think?

also i might be getting a 3.5" mayan for free could i add him to the 100g for a few months? I don't have any problem with nitrates their 20 or below.

Thanks for reading and commenting.

You're not going to be able keep an istlanum in a community setting. The rest of the fish look like they'd get along if they had the right personalities but we all know it depends on the fish most of the time not the species always.

Buttikoferi are AFRICAN..... So not really sticking w/ the central theme... A 240 is only taller than a 180 so you arent gaining any real usable space for fish in comparison to a 180. Istlanum might go nuts in your tank and you will need to grow them out in a "stress free" environment(well as stress free as possible). You will need to make sure you "layer" your tank with as many different territories as possible, some mid tank and some on the bottom. If you dont have enough territories then your gonna have a mess......

So you already knew that, and thats the stock you suggested???? I mean you can do as many water changes as you like, but if the fish dont get along your still gonna end up with dead fish...... Take like 3 species and work a community outta that, it will be easier and it wont look like a jumbled mess of every fish from around the world if you know what I mean.. I dont mean that in any condescending way btw.

240 is the same if you get the same demensions. When actually I'm getting the 8' version. And if you would have read it was a suggested of what fish I would like in there. How will it look like a mess, the tank tank would look better if you were able to keep a bunch of different fish together. Just because I have to odd ones won't make it look like a mess. There are many tanks with green terrors in them. They all would be grown in a stress free environment. I was only saying the water changes so I wouldn't hear the centrals produce a lot of waste so your going to have to do water changes.

Well things like dimensions should be posted in the first post of the thread.. Common 240's are taller 180's so without clarification of course Im going to assume that. I couldve read the post all day and not gotten that... And I did read your post, but the way it is written says that those fish are what you want.. You asked me what I thought and I told you.. Dont get all defensive because of that. It's just what I think.
