Maybe we should stop selling to individuals, I will be recomending this to Joe as well this morning.
Thanks, Tfd Fish./

Just as customers, I hope, will not let one bad experience with a seller ruin their perceptions of all the other sellers, you too should not let me ruin it for all the other individuals. If you really feel like $100 is not enough money to make it worth the effort, then so be it. But this seems more like a threat trump card to scare people off.

It's stuff like this that will bring an end to individuals being able to benifit from what they (TFD) offer. It will be a sad day if that happens. I have no complaints from any of the fish that I have recieved from TFD. I'm sure others do, but apparently they dont drag their (TFD) name through the mud.

I hope they continue to sell to the public. It would be a shame if they didnt.

Quite a shame indeed. But as I have said before, I am not trying to "drag their name through the mud." I really think they are a good company to do business with most of the time. But it is how one handles the occasional problem that seperates the good from the great. So far I feel I was treated quite poorly, and TFD deserves this chance in public to show they are one of the great companies to deal with.

1. I was absolutely not given the airbill number until I called Friday to ask what was going on. And I only knew the airlines because the man told me they had just shipped out other orders to KC on Wednesday via Southwest.

I had an epiphany as to not getting the airbill number. I assume this number is given out at the time of shipping by the carrier much like other tracking numbers given out by UPS, FedEx, etc. Because it was shipped Thursday, am I correct in assuming they would not have had the number before then? If this is true, then there would have been no way for me to know the airbill number unless TFD called and told me on Thursday, which of course did not happen. They said they had given me the number, but how could they when no one called me on Thursday?

I got this email from Joe this morning. It was much more professional, but still not too satisfying.

Wes,

You are the kind of customer that would serve me best by dealing with someone else. Thank you for considering T.F.D. sorry that it did not work out for you. Enjoy the hobby and move on to a better supplier.

Thanks again,

Joe

If I were a vendor I wouldn't want to sell to anyone on this forum, all it takes is for one bad transaction and you guys go public with it. Who has time to run a business and then come on here to defend themselves to hundreds of people who have nothing to do with the transaction in the first place.

I really hope you can find a resolution you are happy with; but if you dont, I dont care and dont want to hear about it, dont ruin it for the rest of us over $100.

It is unfortunate that there is bad feelings left between Aranos and Joe, however this thread has been beaten to death now so I am closing it.
As a last word though I do extend my thanks to both principles involved for their having throughout the thread trying to maintain a welcome level of courtesy to both one another and other participants in the thread.
Once again thank you.

I am sorry, I thought that Joe had already responded so I closed the thread, my mistake, therefore I am reopening it but want other people to continue being polite please.

I understand where you're coming from, as I don't want to ruin anything for anyone. But I wouldn't blame Consumer Reports for harming a company by publishing a problem with their product or service. Consumer education, in my opinion, is a good thing, even if a few bad businesses stop selling to some customers (or customers decide not to order from the company). I may have only lost $100, but many people can lose a lot more in the future. But this is not to say TFD is a 'bad business,' there are many great things about the company that have already been discusses. I just want to let people know what they are getting into.
