I Officially Hate My Oscar

Are you sure that they faught? it sounds like you may have an ammonia situation going on. Have you noticed any aggression between the fish ? the reason being if the oscar has eye damage the GT has the appearence of being beaten which is what ammonia burns will look like sometimes. & a dead front. so suddenly, check your water parameters. something similar happened to me yrs. ago (diff. fish species) & I thaught it was due ti fighting but it turned out soap was in the pail I used for water change so was inadvertently put in the tank thank goodness it was only small amount so I put the fish in another tank until that one was completly rinsed out.
 
are frontosas really that sensitive? we carried them for a while and they did fine for the most part. raised on a florida fish farm and then sent to us...no special water or anything.

I'm not saying "special" water, whatever that means. Just avoid pH crashes. If your carbonate hardness (KH) is high enough, it shouldn't be a problem. I've lost several fronts when my pH crashed to 6.0.

Wow. I'm reallly sorry about your loss. All the Oscars i've seen have been highly aggresive. But then again it's because the person keeping them had them in too small of tanks (1 was a 25gallon with 1 Oscar, and a bunch of other catfish and such, the other was a 29 with 2 Oscars.)
 
Some fish die of stress by itself... its like they think their in danger and then it builds up from there.. i lost one of my fronts because of this.. the other fish never actually touched him but the stress of being in with the different types weaked his immune system and finally sapped his strenghth.. i have 3 little fronts together now..and one is growing larger then the other two... he has them at bay at feeding time...nothing bad but must be giving the other two looks that could kill... and the other two heed the warning.. they are all going into a 125 and i should be okay.. but i know in time if i did not move them into a larger tank i would lose these with the other one turning into a bully. So what i am trying to say is..fear could have killed your front.. sorry because losing fronts is really a loss..
