If I'm not going to quit, I think I'm going to take a very long break.
I was planning to sell the bearded dragon enclosure.. but I might just set it up for the leopard gecko.

long breaks do best. when I was 12 when my 3 leopard geckos died all of a sudden I stopped herp keeping aside from my beardie and turts. I went back 1 year later and I was finally able to succeed in breeding them.

From this experience you should never give up especially you love 2nd or 1st or 3rd.

It sounds like your beardie injested/inhaled something toxic. If you didn't do anything unusual around the house (Painting, oven cleaning, hair spray, etc) it's possible the crickets were "Tainted". I'm thinking pesticide. Most pet shops keep crickets on the ground, if an exterminator treated that day, the crickets may have had pesticide on them. You should ask the place you bought the crickets from if they had a huge die-off. They may not admit to having an exterminator stop by.
Also, if you feed any wild insects lawn fertilizer and other chemicals come into play.

But I am very sorry for your loss. How was the temp in the cool side? Was there any humidity problems??

the way I figure enjoy them while they are in your care and take lots of pictures if they pass remember them for what they were and enjoy the memories.

The Humidity in my room is pretty high most of the time.
I have a temp/humidity cage in the middle of my room and the humidity reads 60% almost every day.
I didn't keep a water bowl in with the beardie, as I soaked it in the tub and would give it water with a pipet, plus it would raise the humidity in the cage.

I had fed the beardie larger crickets on occasion, but for the most part the crickets I fed her where smaller than the space in between her eyes and not very thick bodied.

I really dont think it's the crickets.
I bought these crickets 3 weeks ago, and I've kept them in a large rubbermaid bin with screen over the top for ventilation. And my leopard gecko eats the same crickets as the beardie did everyday and the leo is in fantastic health.

I dunno.. I want to get another beardie but I'm thinking I'll probably get a crested gecko or two, but keep all the beardies things just in case.
