They were selling them for $9 at 2". But, and a big BUT, they were flowerhorns, not trimacs. Some showed blue scales all over their body. Secondly, their info card said a red snook cichlid maxes out at 8" and were selling a 3" fish for 30 bucks. I've seen snook at 16 or 18". But this is what store bashers thrive on... so flame on.
dragonfish;1052044; said:Where was the store? Ours are 7.99. Wondered And yes, red snook max out at 8" if kept properly.
pmtuneman13;1052828; said:Trinity, Fl. And do you mean improperly? Red Bay Snook Cichlids get huge 18-20" for males and 12" for females. At eight inches they aren't halfway there. I don't bash employees at these stores as this kind of job is a learning experience for a lot of people that work there. Years ago I worked at Petsupermarket and learned a lot from my customers. I lose respect for those workers who think they know everything and just spew out untruths without doing research. Those people kill a lot of fish, and break a lot of little kids hearts... and make their parents angry.
dragonfish;1053671; said:Yes I know this. I guess sarcasm and low key humor don't work well for me on a keyboard. That line killed them in person. I also stated that I disagree with alot of corp. policy and think most of the card info is simply designed to sell more fish. How many people are going to buy that cute little two inch pacu if you tell them up front, requires hundreds of gallons. Not good for business. That's where honest employees step in and kill 99% of those sales. Yay for the good guy. The rest of what you said I agree with 100%.
pmtuneman13;1053778; said:Yeah, that sarcasm's a *****... I was hoping you were kidding.![]()
