My 16' dia and 42" high pond which has about 4500gal actually in it keeps 2 large (36"+) RTC's happy along with the Pacu's and assorted others. I think RTC's do not need so much huge tanks (1000gal per fish is ok) as much as swimming room that only a round environment can really provide.

Definitely. I got a jau though! Maybe in 20-30 years he'll be huge, or at least I hope. There's a fish no one can argue never gets over 6'. I know of at least 10 fish caught over 6', and 1 over 7' and weighed in at 335 lbs. They grow so slow it's like worse than watching paint dry trying to see the growth after 17".

It's hard to get people not to buy a fish, when we all know that they will buy it any way if they want it bad enough. Just try and gear advice that will help the average person keep their fish better than they would have otherwise.
