religiously would be how often?

Depends on your habits. Feeding, etc. You will need to keep a test kit handy to keep up and check yourself. Then you will know how often. But the first problem is getting through the ammonia spike you're soon going to encounter. Did you just get all the fish? Can some go back? If so, I'd do that until the filters have time to establish themselves some.

i could give back 3 of the rainbow fish because i got those today. last week i got 3 black neons and 2 guppies. let me know what i need to give back. i prefer to keep the rainbow fish.

doesn't really sound so bad as long as you stay on top of water changes. You might have a problem pretty quick here when your tank decides its not cycled. Grab whatever filter you had on the old tank and put it on your 20.

Put an Emperor 280 Filter on that tank and take a filter from an established tank and stick it into a space in the Emperor......then the tank should cycle quickly and your water quality will be in good status...

Ok, that's not as bad as I thought you were saying. I thought you just went and bought them all at once. I assume the others you already had? If you have a test kit, you can just keep an eye on things and make sure they stay in place. You may be ok to keep them, just check it, and keep up on water changes.

Another filter wouldn't hurt.

2 filters would def help. i also dont think ur two bad, but just like everyone else said water changes, i would say maybe 5 gallons on a weekly basis

it sounds great to me, just make sure you have a good filter :)

I agree, Your main problem is your new tank is not cycled. You should have cycled it before stocking and you could have went and got all those fish and safely put them in the tank. Except the sucker, if its a pleco that is. If its a OTO then your good, lol. You need a drop test kit for mainly ammonia, nitrite and then nitrate. If you still have your old small tank set up and cycled, that would be a better home for most of these fish even if it would be way over stocked. i am assuming it is atleast a 10g. And then you could fishless cycle this new one for a few weeks. i would upgrade the filter anyway you go. If you want to stay with the whisper brand then just get the largest they offer. I think it is a 60 or 40-60.
